Love Is a Gift, Not a Game

Struggling with people in our lives, is part of the love that we have for one another.
I am probably not alone in this sentiment I am sure that my life experiences are similar to others.
Relationships, friendships are not often easy. Often someones love turns into some sort of competition, and I in all honesty, well I get terrified and step away and more often than not. If I am continuously pulled into the competition, will eventually lash out. This is because their understanding of love is not a fairy tale to me but a nightmare. This is not the love that grew me.
The love that grew me was and is a place where we grow together. Not necessarily in the same direction or at the same pace, but on our own independently. We hopefully are pleased and excited for those that we love as they grow. None of us are the same, we are all blessed with different gifts.
The reason I am going off about this this morning is because I had a horoscope that was really great. Yes every morning I get up and read my horoscope. I don't know if it fit my situation perfectly but something in it struck a chord. It was for someone that is on the same journey as I am, but possibly has not had the unconditional unabashed love I was blessed with as a child that taught me the lessons I needed to know. So I wanted to share it with you today.
It can all be paralleled with my life, as most horoscopes can, but it is the last two lines that through me for a loop. Please read, and remember love is not a game it truly is a gift. If you treat it like a game one too many times, the truth is you could lose it all.
Happy Sunday...
Preaching about moderation is one thing, but following through with sensible behavior can be a real challenge now. You are familiar with the concept of emotional detachment, but your feelings are dragging you all over the map today. You might be willing to risk your social stability in order to shift a relationship dynamic in your favour. But seeing interpersonal interactions as a competition is counterproductive to your personal growth. Cooperation is essential when it comes to the game of love.

Love is not a game, it is a gift, that if we are lucky enough we are open to receive.
